Da jeg fik mit seneste togsæt, skulle der en ny dekoder til og valget faldt på Lenz Gold mini, der er en DCC dekoder. Her skal vi se lidt på dekoderens forskellige funktioner.
Dekoderen er som sagt til DCC og fåes med 6 pins til NEM651 stikket eller med kabler. Dekoderen er 9 x 11mm og 2,8/3,3mm tyk, alt efter om det er med kabler eller pins
- Motorbelastning 0.5A kontinuerlig (0.8A max)
- 2 Funktionsudgange til lys 100mA hver
- Start- og bremseforsinkelse
- Konstant bremselængde
- Variabel spænding på funktionsudgangene til at sænke lyset
- Lyseffekter
- Ranger funktion
- Understøtter Lenz ABC
- Understøtter assymetrisk DCC
Dekoderen er let at programmere via CV’er og det kan både foregå på programmeringssporet eller på banen mens lokomotivet kører.
Lad os se på nogle af de ekstra funktioner i dekoderen.
Konstant bremselængde:
Start- og bremseforsinkelse kender dem der kører digitalt i forvejen. Med CV51 kan man aktivere konstant bremselængde, der gør det muligt for lokomotivet, at bruge samme længde til nedbremsning hver gang uanset hastighed.
Kører lokomotivet fx. på hastighedstrin 4, vil det køre med lav hastighed, indtil det har nået hele bremselængden, så hvis alle lokomotiver er opsat ens, vil de altid holde samme sted når de bremser.
Jeg har oplevet at der er et par cm. forskel på hvor toget holder, alt efter om man kører på max hastighed eller om det kører langsomt, men funktionen virker rigtigt godt.
Ønsker man at lokomotivet skal stoppe straks, kan man ved at fjerne start- og bremseforsinkelse, eller aktivere ranger hastighed, få det til at stoppe straks.
Variabel spænding på funktionsudgangene til at sænke lyset:
Lysstyrken er fra fabrikken på max, men hvis man ønsker at dæmpe lyset, kan det gøres med CV55 og CV56.
Lyseffekter:
Der er mulighed for 4 forskellige lyseffekter på funktionsudgangene, hvis man skulle ønske det. Det kan fx. bruges hvis man ønsker blink på et rangerlok eller har et amerikansk lokomotiv, der ofte har blinkende lygter.
Effekterne kan indstilles individuelt i hver ende af lokomotivet og der kan tildeles en knap til at tænde og slukke for effekten. De 4 effekter hedder Marslight, Gyraligt, Strobe og Doublestrobe og giver alle forskellige typer blink.
Lenz ABC og Assymetrisk DCC:
Lenz ABC står for Lenz Automatic Brake Control og sammen med assymetrisk DCC, giver det en billig og enkel mulighed, til at bremse lokomotiver, fx. foran signaler.
Lokomotiverne bremses med fire små dioder i et kredsløb. Disse fire dioder giver et assymetrisk signal i skinnerne og det er dette signal Lenz dekoderen opfanger og derefter bremser lokomotivet. Samme princip kan bruges til vendetog, hvor man kan sætte en tid for hvor længe lokomotivet skal vente inden det vender om.
Jeg har selv leget lidt med assymetrisk DCC og må sige det virker rigtigt godt. Lokomotiver der ikke forstår det assymetiske signal, vil bare fortsætte forbi signalet, så det skal man være opmærksom på.
Alt i alt synes jeg det er en fin dekoder, der samtidig er let at sætte op. Specielt muligheden for at bremse lokomotiver for et par kr. er tiltalende for mig, da jeg ikke synes om de andre muligheder der er inden for DCC.

Almost all that is on my mind is cancer sticks. I i’m sure i don’t wish to light up and if someone offered me a smoke right this minute, I will definetly refuse. I am in a pretty crappy mental state and have been having trouble getting to sleep still I do know I should end up healthy. The electric cigarette may make it easier in the end.
